We have launched Myrmic, our new open runtime for distributed edge systems, and we are looking for post-launch testers to build with it, push its limits, and help us improve what comes next.

How It Works

What To Do

Select Your Challenge

Choose one path and put Myrmic to the test in your own way. You can build something new, test the limits of the runtime, or connect Myrmic to a native capability, target, or hardware setup.

Build

Create a small application or use case with Myrmic.

This path is for participants who want to show what can be built with the runtime. Your project can be practical, experimental, or exploratory. The goal is to demonstrate how Myrmic can be used for distributed edge systems, application logic, messaging, state, or placement.

Break

Find bugs, limitations, failure cases, or developer experience problems.

This path is for participants who want to test Myrmic critically. You can look for unclear documentation, broken examples, confusing setup steps, unexpected runtime behavior, limitations, edge cases, or anything that makes the developer experience harder than it should be.

Integrate

Extend Myrmic with a native capability, target, or hardware integration.

This path is for participants who want to connect Myrmic to something beyond the basic examples. You can work with real hardware, simulated devices, native capabilities, or a new target. Hardware is welcome, but not required.

How To Submit

Submit your work by October 11 before midnight.

Your submission should include enough information for us to understand, review, and reproduce what you created or found. You can submit by preparing:

A public repository with your project, notes, or reproduction steps
A short video or screen recording showing what you built, tested, or discovered
Clear setup instructions so the jury can understand how to run or review your work
Any supporting screenshots, logs, diagrams, or documentation
A short explanation of which challenge path you chose: Build, Break, or Integrate

Once your materials are ready, complete the final submission form and include the relevant links.

If you have questions during the challenge, you can contact us through the Myrmic Discord or Zulip. We’ll use those channels to answer questions, share updates, and support participants throughout the challenge.

Analytics on public pages are used only with your consent, and challenge registration details, form responses, and submission information are not shared with analytics services. Third-party services used to operate the challenge are described in our privacy notice.
